Repair
over replacement
Fast fashion might be disposable but sewing machines don't have to be
Hello, I'm Jess and I repair and service sewing machines and occasionally I sell reconditioned ones too.
I give people who sew (or want to) an alternative to buying a new, less durable, sewing machine and I love keeping working machines on the road. I also support local creative communities, sustainable fashion projects and repair culture.
What I offer - and where
I service and repair all brands and all eras, old and new, of domestic lockstitch sewing machines (not overlockers) including Janome, Bernina, Singer, Pfaff, Brother, Frister & Rossman, Husqvarna, Elna, Toyota, New Home and more.
Located in Crystal Palace, my workspace is accessible from Penge, Anerley, Norwood Junction, Norbury, West Dulwich, Gipsy Hill, Sydenham and Beckenham.
Hop on to the circular economy

If your machine has broken and you know what the problem is, I'll target that specific issue (eg timing, tension, mechanical wear) to confirm the fault and fix it. If new parts are needed or it's a complex repair, I'll contact you first. From £60.00
Help! My sewing machine has stopped working

For a second hand, neglected or inherited machine that has been unused for some time, you'll want to know if it works and the extent of any problems before you decide on the next step. The assessment fee of £40.00 will be taken off the cost of any further work.
I've found an old machine - is it ok to use?

Periodically give your sewing machine the care and attention it needs, so it can keep on keeping on for you and your projects. I'll deep clean, re-lubricate, adjust and maintain your whole machine so it's in tip-top condition. From £95.00
The full service - a stitch in time

If you're not sure what's going on with your machine, or want to know more about my services and prices, please get in touch and I'll listen and give honest advice. I also occasionally source reconditioned vintage machines for sale with a 2-year warranty.
